She only revealed that she was a Neko (to none Nekos) three times, once to three of her friends at a sleep over one freaked out and never spoke to her again, one treated her the same as always, and one never stopped bugging her about what it was like to be a Neko. The second time however was an accident, she was about thirteen and was making out with a boy, while in the moment the boy pulled off her hat revealing her ears, shocked he bit her tong and then stumbling ran right out of the park they had been sitting in.
The third time was to her best guy friend at age fifteen she asked him to stay the night at her house neither ones parents minded number one because the boy lived next door, and number two Ai's mother had her mind on her date that night and waved them off saying "Sure, what ever." As she put her earrings in. Ai invited him into her room where she nervous bit her lip and took off her hat, the boy sat there unfazed with it going so well Ai uncurled her tail from under her skirt, the boy remained calm. "Are you... Surprised... Scared... What's the matter?" She asked. "Oh, I'm not surprised; you forget to close the curtness when you change sometimes." He said thumbing towards her bedroom window through which his was clearly visible.
The two quickly became a couple, and the boy, Shin (faithful) became the one constant boyfriend whom she never dumped after getting board, for she has yet to get board. Not surprisingly Ai was upset at the lack of boys at "The School For Gifted Young Women" aka Neko High, however she does find ways to continually have boyfriends, and she keeps in touch with Shin the second boy she's ever had sex with and promises never to sleep with anyone else.
